Donald Trump Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ To Overturn 2020 Election In Federal Charges

Former President Donald Trump has recently faced a significant hearing at the Washington, D.C. court in the case pertaining to the alleged conspiracy to undermine his defeat in the 2020 presidential election loss.

During the proceedings, Donald Trump himself was present and also presented his ‘defense of innocence’ before the court.

After the court hearing, before returning to New Jersey, Trump stated that this is a political witch-hunt, something that should never happen in America.

Essentially, Donald Trump is accused of using governmental power for political gains. He is facing charges related to the alleged conspiracy during the 2020 elections when he and his associates attempted to overturn the victory of Democratic rival Joe Biden.

On January 6th, 2021, Trump’s supporters stormed the White House.

Furthermore, Donald Trump is facing criminal charges in two cases while he is actively campaigning for the next presidential election, which is set to take place next year.

Despite the legal challenges, Trump is leading as the top Republican contender according to various opinion polls.

The next hearing on this matter is scheduled for August 28th.
