Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been arrested today from outside the Islamabad high court in a mutiny case.
According to the media, Khan was taken into custody by Rangers, where he was gone to seek bail in multiple FIRs registered against him.
Khan was scheduled to appear before the Islamabad High Court pertaining to charges of attempted murder.
PTI vice-president Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the IHC has been “occupied by the Rangers” & lawyers “ that are being subjected to torture”.
Therefore, Imran Khan used a rally over the weekend to accuse the military of being behind at least 2 attempts to murder him. The Islamabad police stated that Section 144 has been imposed in the national capital.
The former premier’s detention follows several unsuccessful attempts, including a raid of police at his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park, to arrest Imran.
