The Madhya Pradesh High Court Bar Association has written to the President of India Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, and Justice B.R. Gavai, seeking probe over the alleged demolition of an ancient Hanuman temple located within the official bungalow of MP HC Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait.
A member of the bar, Advocate Ravindra Nath has submitted a formal complaint about the demolition of the temple.
The bar association said that this alleged act of demolition caused ‘serious dissatisfaction’ among its members.
In an exclusive conversation with iTV Network, Bar Association President Dhanya Kumar Jain, said that the temple in question holds historical and spiritual significance.
Several former Chief Justices, including Justice SA Bobde, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar regularly offered prayers at the temple, he said.
He further said that the temple was respected by all, including former Chief Justice Rafiq Ahmed and staff members, irrespective of their personal beliefs.
Jain said that the bungalow and temple are government properties, making the demolition of such type an insult to the public faith.
Jain said that there is no need to take his word without evidence, which is why an investigation is necessary.
