Travis Scott Faces Trouble Again: Arrested For ‘Violence Against Another Person’

Travis Scott

American rapper Travis Scott has recently landed in legal trouble during his visit to Paris.

On Friday morning, an altercation between Scott and his bodyguard erupted at the George V luxury hotel, leading to Scott’s arrest on charges of “violence against another person,” according to a police spokesperson. French authorities intervened after the security guard tried to separate Scott from his bodyguard during the incident. The Paris prosecutor’s office is currently investigating the matter.

Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was in Paris for the Olympic Games and had attended the men’s basketball semi-final, where the U.S. team defeated Serbia. He had just finished the European leg of his Circus Maximus tour, which included performances across North America and Europe, with a notable recent show at Tottenham Hotspur’s 62,000-seat stadium in London.

This is not Scott’s first brush with the law. In June, he was arrested in Miami for disorderly intoxication and trespassing, although his attorney described it as a misunderstanding with no physical altercation involved.

Additionally, in 2023, Scott faced allegations of assaulting a sound technician at a New York City nightclub. The technician, Mark, claimed Scott struck him after being asked to lower the volume, and also damaged $12,000 worth of sound equipment.

Scott’s representative contested these claims, arguing that video footage from the event showed Scott’s performance being disrupted by an aggressive intruder, rather than an assault.
