Amritsar: Man Arrested After Molesting Female Crew Staff On IndiGo Flight

An IndiGo flight passenger was recently detained for allegedly molesting a female crew member.

Rajinder Singh, the accused, was flying from Dubai to Amritsar on flight number 6E 1428. He was arrested immediately after landing at Amritsar Airport at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The arrested passenger, a resident of Kotli village in Punjab’s Jalandhar, allegedly consumed a high amount of alcohol on the flight. He misbehaved with a female staff member while in an inebriated state.

The matter was handled by the flight crew at the time. After landing, the security manager took the matter with the police. Police arrested the accused and are investigating the incident.

In recent months, incidents of unacceptable behaviour by flying passengers have become more regular.

Last month, an Indian man aboard an American Airlines flight from New York to New Delhi urinated on another passenger during an argument, apparently under the influence of alcohol.

In a similar case that made headlines in November of last year, a man named Shankar Mishra was accused of urinating on an elderly woman while allegedly intoxicated on an Air India aircraft. He was arrested and later released on bail.
