Kapil Sibal Praises CJI DY Chandrachud At His Farewell

The Supreme Court Bar Association of India (SCBA) President Kapil Sibal on Friday heaped praise on outgoing Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. Sibal was addressing the farewell function for CJI Chandrachud.

He said “CJI Chandrachud was willing to deal with the complex issues which past chief justices would not allow themselves to deal with those issues for years like Article 370, same-sex marriage or electoral bonds. You (CJI Chandrachud) were willing to take it forward, you were willing to address the issues within the contours of those complexities and you addressed them with great clarity. Therefore we must thank you for all that you have done. We may not agree with you, it’s not necessary to agree, but at least we must give you and salute you for the fact that you were ready, willing to deal with those complexities.”
