Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh Bids Farewell to J&K and Ladakh HC

A full court farewell reference was held on Tuesday at the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to bid farewell to Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh, following his appointment as a Supreme Court Judge.

It is noteworthy that Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh, has become the first judge from Manipur to be appointed to the top court.

In his farewell address, Advocate General D C Raina described Justice Singh as a gentleman par excellence and praised his dedication and commitment to his professional responsibilities. He noted that Justice Singh was endeared by all in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh due to his polite conduct and behavior.

The Advocate General emphasized that Justice Singh had the remarkable ability to create a comfortable and easy court environment, enabling lawyers to present their cases effectively.

In his address, Justice Singh expressed gratitude for the unwavering professional commitment and support extended to him during his tenure. He emphasized that no judge can dispense real justice without the cooperation of the Bar and acknowledged the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh’s vibrant and energetic young lawyers. He advised young lawyers to display patience and work hard to achieve success in their noble profession. He also appreciated the advocates’ talent, aptitude, and knowledge of law.

“I am overwhelmed by the warmth and affection shown by one and all,” he stated.
