UP Court Acquits SP Leader Narad Rai Along With 18 Others In A 13 Year Old Case Of Obstructing Traffic

SP Leader Narad Rai

A court in Uttar Pradesh recently acquitted Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Narad Rai, along with 18 others, due to insufficient evidence in a case dating back 13 years. The case involved allegations of obstructing traffic.

Rai served as an MLA from Ballia during the periods of 2002-2007 and 2012-2017.

The prosecution claimed that on April 2, 2010, Prabhakar Tiwari, who was then in charge of Ballia Kotwali police station, filed a case against Rai and 18 others for supposedly impeding traffic. According to the allegations, the accused conducted a procession at the district headquarters, raised slogans against the state government, and blocked the road.
