Two youths lost their lives, and a woman sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle purportedly in the convoy of BJP candidate Karan Bhushan Singh from Kaiserganj, as informed by the police on Wednesday.
It is to be notified that Karan Singh is the son of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Kaiserganj MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief.
The driver allegedly responsible for the incident has been apprehended, and the injured have been admitted to the hospital, stated the police, further informing that law enforcement personnel have been stationed in the area to uphold law and order.
According to Kernalganj SHO Nirbhay Narayan Singh, the victims, Rehan Khan (17) and Shehzad Khan (20), were riding a motorcycle when they were struck by the vehicle near a school, resulting in their immediate demise.
The SUV, which collided with the duo, lost control and also struck Sita Devi (60) as she was walking along the roadside, the SHO added.
