Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Manish Sisodia, was unable to meet his ailing wife when he arrived at his residence on Saturday.
Prior to his arrival, his wife had been admitted to LNJP Hospital. It should be noted that the Delhi High Court granted permission for Sisodia to visit his wife from 10 am – 5 pm today.
However, during the meeting, Sisodia would remain in police custody as per the court’s directive. Sisodia previously filed for interim bail, citing his wife’s illness.
The High Court granted bail with certain conditions, including a prohibition on media interaction, use of mobile phones, and internet access. The court also ordered verification of the medical report, which must be provided by tomorrow evening positively.
Furthermore, the court specified that Sisodia could only meet with family members during this period.
In addition to the interim bail plea, Sisodia’s legal team has also approached the Delhi High Court, seeking a 6-week bail period based on his wife’s medical illness.
Previously, Sisodia had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the liquor policy case and by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a separate investigation related to alleged irregularities in the excise policy of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).
