More than 20 workers of the Aam Aadmi Party were arrested on Saturday after they tried to organize a strike outside the BJP headquarters challenging the arrest of party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, officials claimed.

They informed that “a group of AAP workers led by party leader Om Prakash Khajuria gathered near Trikuta Nagar to join the nationwide protest against the arrest of Kejriwal and tried to walk towards the BJP headquarter office, but were stopped by police.”
The officers stated that, more than 20 workers were put in jail after they refused to stop the protest and kept continuing their march towards the BJP headquarters. Kejriwal was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as he was connected with the Delhi government’s now-scrapped excise policy.
Case History
On March 21, Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money-laundering case that was linked with the excise policy. Kejriwal was granted bail by a trial court that was stayed by the Delhi High Court.
“We planned to go to the BJP office (Jammu) against the illegal arrest of our leader in response to the call for a nationwide protest, but police took us into custody,” Khajuria stated. The protesters were fetching placards and shouting slogans against the BJP party for allegedly misusing union agencies against the opposition party.
“Kejriwal is being framed in a false case. The CBI was used when they (the BJP) became apprehensive that he might be released by the Supreme Court,” Khajuria said, complaining that the nation is facing a “situation worse than the emergency” under the control of the BJP.
