Advocate Files Petition Against Bihar’s Education Minister Over Comments on Ramcharitmanas

Chandrashekhar

A petition has been filed in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur MP-MLA court in connection with controversial remarks made by Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar on the Hindu religious text Ramcharitmanas. Advocate Sudhir Ojha has filed a petition against Chandrashekhar. The petitioner, Sudhir Ojha, told Legally Speaking that the work of hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus has been done by the education minister of the Bihar government, and this statement has been made deliberately as part of a well-thought-out conspiracy.

On January 11, the Bihar education minister made the controversial remarks while speaking at the 15th convocation of the Nalanda Open University and then commented to the media, “The Ramcharitmanas talks against imparting education to low-caste persons, saying they will become poisonous after getting education the way snakes become venomous after sipping milk.” He claimed that MS Golwalkar’s books Manusmriti, Ramcharitmanas, and Bunch of Thoughts instilled hatred in society in three different eras, and that these were the reasons Baba Saheb BR Ambedkar opposed these books.
Such statements will not strengthen India. Education and God, according to Chandra Shekhar, who represents Madhepura in the state assembly, are not caste-based. He claimed that only love could take India forward.
