Ambala Court Sentences Man To Life Term For Raping Minor Daughter

The Ambala court has recently sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping his 13-year-old daughter.

Additional Sessions Judge and Special Judge of a fast-track court operating within the framework of the POCSO Act, Man Pal Ramawat, awarded the sentence to the man who had been residing within a locality in Ambala City.

Also, the court sentenced the accused’s younger brother who was charged with molesting the rape victim’s younger sister to imprisonment based on the period of confinement he had already undergone.

As recounted by the prosecution, the incident prompted law enforcement to initiate legal action against the father and uncle of the victims on January 2, 2022, under the purview of the POCSO Act.

Furthermore, the 13-year-old rape survivor disclosed that she had been residing within a colony situated in Ambala City. Due to domestic discord, her parents had been leading separate lives, resulting in her cohabitation with her father along with her younger sister, aged 8. The survivor further revealed that her unmarried uncle also shared the same living arrangements.

The survivor stated, one day when her younger sister was alone at home, her uncle subjected her sister to molestation.

Subsequently, the 13-year-old complainant asserted that on a separate occasion, when her sister was absent from the residence, her own father raped her. The father, along with the uncle later threatened her not to disclose the matter to anyone otherwise she would have to face dire consequences.

The 13-year-old stated in the complaint that later her father continued to sexually assault her.

Finally, she decided to raise the voice and went to one of her female relatives and disclosed to her ordeal.

This disclosure prompted her to approach local law enforcement authorities, who proceeded to facilitate medical examinations for both of the victimized girls.
Subsequently, their testimonies were recorded within the court’s legal framework.

Surjeet Singh, serving as the special public prosecutor within the ambit of the fast-track court in Ambala, stated that the accused parties were originally natives of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, and were living in Ambala for the last several years.
