Arrests Mount in Rajkot Game Zone Fire Tragedy: Total Now Five

Gujarat police, on Wednesday, informed about the arrest of an additional partner associated with the Rajkot-based TRP game zone, where a fire last week tragically claimed the lives of 27 individuals. This recent arrest brings the total number of apprehensions to five, according to police sources.

Arrest of Kiritsinh Jadeja

Kiritsinh Jadeja, a partner in Raceway Enterprises, the operating entity of the game zone, was apprehended from Rajkot-Kalavad road on May 28, as confirmed by Rajkot Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Parthrajsinh Gohil said.

Jadeja stands among the six partners of the TRP game zone who have been named as accused in the fire incident and booked under various Indian Penal Code provisions, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

“We apprehended accused Kiritsinh Jadeja near Rajkot last night, bringing the total number of arrests made in the case to five,” stated Mr. Gohil.

“Out of the six individuals named in the FIR, one Prakash Hiran perished in the fire. During investigation, the DNA sample of one of the deceased matched with that of Hiran’s kin, confirming his demise,” the official disclosed.

Earlier Detentions

Previously, the police had detained Yuvrajsinh Solanki, Rahul Rathod, Dhaval Thakkar, all partners of the game zone, and its manager Nitin Jain, according to officials.

The accused have been charged under IPC Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 337 (causing hurt by an act that endangers the life or personal safety of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt to a person by doing an act that endangers their life or personal safety), and 114 (someone present when the offense is committed).

Tragic Loss

The blaze at the game zone on May 25 resulted in the tragic loss of 27 lives, with most victims charred beyond recognition.

Samples from all the deceased and their relatives were collected for DNA analysis and sent for forensic examination to Gandhinagar. Officials reported that 25 bodies have been identified and handed over to the relatives thus far.
