YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, has returned to social media following the backlash over his appearance on the controversial comedy show India’s Got Latent.
However, fresh reports indicate that the controversy is far from over, as the Maharashtra Cyber Cell has accused him of not cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Summons Ignorance Could Lead To Legal Action
According to the reports, the Cyber Cell had issued summons to multiple online creators, including Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Apoorva Mukhija, in connection with the offensive content aired on Raina’s comedy show. While Samay and Ashish reportedly appeared for questioning, Ranveer and Apoorva failed to comply.
Authorities now allege that the 2 have been unresponsive to repeated summons, and legal proceedings are reportedly being considered against them for non-cooperation.
Background
The controversy erupted after multiple comedians and influencers, including Allahbadia and Mukhija, participated in India’s Got Latent, a comedy roast that featured explicit jokes and objectionable remarks. The content triggered public outrage, resulting in multiple FIRs against those involved.
Public Apologies Follow Criticism
Both Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija have since issued public apologies. In a recent video, Apoorva — also known online as The Rebel Kid — expressed remorse, “Irrespective of my intention, I’ve hurt a lot of people, and that’s honestly the last thing I ever wanted to do… I should have been more mindful of my words, but I’ve learnt my lesson and I promise I’ll do better moving forward.”
Ranveer, who took a brief hiatus from public platforms, has also asked for forgiveness and urged people to give him a second chance. Despite his return to content creation, the ongoing legal concerns may prolong his troubles.
As the Cyber Cell evaluates further legal steps, the situation remains tense for the two creators. While their online comeback signals an attempt to move forward, authorities appear determined to ensure accountability for the controversial content.
