The Delhi police on Thursday said that there was no connection between the accused and eyewitness Nidhi, in Kanjhawala case. The Delhi police while addressing a press conference stated that two other suspects in the case tried to tamper with evidence and submitted false information in order to assist the accused. The Delhi Police have stated that the CCTV footage is being assessed whereas an inquiry is ongoing.
During the interrogation, we also found that the automobile was driven by Amit rather than Deepak. In this case, two more people have been made accused. We’re trying to arrest them. According to Special CP (L&O), no evidence of sexual assault was found during the post-mortem examination.
“We have arrested 5 accused and we are interrogating them. During interrogation, we found that two more people are involved in the incident. Our team is conducting raids. We have recorded the statement of the eye witness,” The Delhi police said.
“We are trying to file the charge sheet as early as possible. A total of 18 teams of Delhi Police are investigating this case. Two new accused have tried to tamper the evidence and have given misinformation as they tried to help the accused” Delhi police stated.
Nidhi’s eyewitness statement was recorded. There wasn’t any link found in between eyewitness and the accused. We can only make a statement on whether she was drunk or not after the post-mortem report, which is irrelevant to this case as it is a 304 IPC case, “said Special CP (L&O).
