BLR Police Arrests Coffee Shop Worker For Filming Women In Washroom

In a recent incident at a popular coffee shop in Bengaluru led to the arrest of an employee who allegedly placed a mobile phone with video recording capabilities inside a dustbin in a women’s washroom, according to police reports.

The incident occurred at the Third Wave Coffee outlet on BEL Road in Bengaluru.

The accused allegedly hid his phone in the dustbin of the washroom, intending to record a woman using the facility. The woman discovered the phone and promptly informed the manager, leading to the employee’s arrest. Police have sent the mobile phone for forensic examination.

Another woman who was present at the location brought attention to the incident through a post on her social media account, ‘Gangs of Cinepur.’ She described how the phone had been hidden in the dustbin, with the recording set for about two hours. The phone was in flight mode, making it silent, and was placed in a way that only the camera was exposed through a hole in the dustbin bag.

After the discovery, the coffee shop, Third Wave Coffee, responded swiftly by firing the employee and taking legal action. In a post on X, the coffee outlet stated, “We regret the unfortunate incident at our BEL Road outlet in Bengaluru and want to emphasize that such actions are absolutely unacceptable at Third Wave Coffee. We acted swiftly to address the situation by immediately terminating the person & ensuring the safety of our customers.”
