Salman Khan
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received yet another threat, this time through the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline, prompting police to register a criminal case and launch a probe.
According to officials, the message was received on Sunday, April 13, warning of an attack on the actor. The sender allegedly threatened to bomb Khan’s car and assault him at his residence.
A traffic police official, upon receiving the message at the control room, immediately informed senior officers. Based on the complaint, the Worli police registered a case under Section 351(2) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pertaining to criminal intimidation. The identity of the sender remains unknown, and an investigation is underway.
This is not the first time the 59-year-old actor has been targeted. Salman Khan has faced multiple threats in recent years, notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Bishnoi, currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Ahmedabad, is a key suspect in several serious cases, including extortion and attempted murder.
In April 2024, suspected members of the Bishnoi gang opened fire outside Khan’s residence in Bandra, intensifying concerns about his security. Shortly after, Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot to assassinate Khan during his routine visits to his Panvel farmhouse.
Authorities remain on high alert, especially given the pattern of threats targeting Khan through digital platforms. The latest message has raised further questions about security loopholes and the need for enhanced protection for the actor.
Police officials have confirmed that the probe into the new threat is ongoing, and efforts are being made to trace the origin of the WhatsApp message.
