The Mumbai Police arrested Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday, in connection with a death threat issued to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan last week.
The threat, which was made on November 7, prompted the Mumbai Police to visit Raipur for their investigation. They summoned Khan for questioning and, upon further inquiry, discovered that the phone number used to make the threat call was registered in his name.
Faizan Khan, during questioning, claimed that he had lost his phone and filed a complaint about it at the Khamardih police station in Raipur on November 2. Despite this, the Mumbai Police proceeded with his arrest.
According to Raipur’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Santosh Singh, the Mumbai Police informed their local counterparts about the arrest and planned to produce Faizan Khan in a Raipur court for transit remand.
This incident follows a series of threats against Bollywood personalities, including actor Salman Khan, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
