Defamation Case: Sanjay Raut Records His Statement Against BJP Leader Narayan Rane

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has recently submitted his statement before a court in connection with a defamation case he instituted against Union Minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane for allegedly making false remarks.

This legal action stems from assertions attributed to Mr. Rane, which he contends are defamatory, malicious, and false in nature.

The alleged statements were made during the Konkan Festival held in the suburban locale of Bhandup on January 15, 2023.

In April, Mr. Raut initiated legal proceedings against Mr. Rane on the basis of the purportedly damaging comments made.

In February, Raut issued a legal notice to Rane demanding evidence to justifying his claims.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader moved to a local court after the union minister didn’t respond to his legal notice.

Furthermore, Raut duly appeared before the magistrate’s court situated in the suburban Mulund. During this appearance, he formally recorded his statement of verification within the parameters of the ongoing case.

The matter was adjourned by the court to September 29 for further examination of witnesses.
