Airline Pilot Arrested For Spy Camera Incident
In a separate but equally disturbing case, police arrested a 31-year-old private airline pilot identified as Mohit Priyadarshi, a resident of Civil Lines, Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
Priyadarshi was taken into custody by the Kishangarh police station staff in South West Delhi after being accused of filming a woman without her consent using a hidden camera disguised as a lighter.
Police said the incident occurred on the night of August 30 at Shani Bazar, where the complainant, identified as Ms. K, noticed the accused trying to record her. She raised an alarm and lodged a complaint.
A case was registered under Sections 77/78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage from the area and circulated the suspect’s images. Using local intelligence, the accused was tracked down and arrested.
Confession & Motive
On sustained interrogation, Priyadarshi confessed to his actions. According to police, he admitted that he had been creating such objectionable videos for his personal gratification.
The Delhi Police added that the accused is unmarried and currently employed as a pilot with a private airline.
Pattern Of Sexual Harassment Cases
Both cases highlight the growing concern of sexual harassment in public and private spaces, with offenders coming from diverse professional backgrounds. While police have acted swiftly in both instances, women’s safety in urban spaces remains a pressing issue.
The Delhi Police have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused in both matters to ensure accountability and justice for the victims.
