Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on December 21 in connection with the excise policy-linked money laundering case, embarked on a 10-day Vipassana meditation course on Wednesday, officials confirmed.

The ED had issued fresh summons to the Delhi chief minister on Monday for his involvement in the aforementioned case. Kejriwal, originally scheduled to depart for the Vipassana course on Tuesday, had to delay his departure due to commitments related to the INDIA bloc meeting, as per officials.

He ultimately left at approximately 1:30 pm on Wednesday to attend the pre-scheduled meditation course, officials added. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) raised concerns about the timing of the summons on Tuesday, emphasizing that the party’s legal team is examining the notice, and they will take “legally correct” measures.

The AAP asserted that Kejriwal’s Vipassana session had been pre-planned and widely publicized. “Everyone knows the chief minister is leaving for Vipassana on December 19. He regularly goes for this meditation course. It’s a pre-scheduled and pre-announced plan,” stated AAP MP Raghav Chadha.

Earlier, Kejriwal had been summoned by the ED on November 2, but he opted to skip the questioning, alleging that the notice was illegal and politically motivated.
