Delhi Police Arrests 3 Individuals for IPL Betting on MI vs. DC Match

Three individuals were apprehended on charges of betting for the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, as per officials.

“Delhi Police’s Special Task Force apprehended three individuals, namely Pradeep Sharma alias Boby (33), Mohit Arora (35), and Mukesh Sharma (44),” stated the Police in an official statement.

The police added that one laptop, six mobile phones, one LED TV, one router, and Rs 20,500 were recovered from the possession of the accused.

As per the police, a case was registered under the Gambling Act at Krishna Nagar Police Station. IPL betting is deemed illegal under the provisions of the Prevention of Gambling Act and the Telegraph Act. In the match, Delhi Capitals (DC) posted their highest total in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they scored 257/4 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. They emerged victorious in the match, winning by 10 runs against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI).
