Earlier, Former minister Swati Singh filed the application in the year 2012.

In the year 2012, Swati Singh filed a divorce application, but this application was rejected by the court due to her absence. According to senior advocate Padmakirti, Swati Singh filed an application in the court in March 2022 demanding the resumption of the case.

In fact, the relationship between Dayashankar Singh and Swati Singh lay in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad when both were active in it. It is said that Swati Singh was studying MBA in Allahabad and Dayashankar Singh was a big leader in the student politics of Lucknow University.
