A local court in Bahraich has recently sentenced five men to life imprisonment in an 8-year-old murder case.

District Government Advocate, Munnu Lal Mishra stated, Additional Sessions Judge (4th) Anand Shukla announced the verdict on Friday in the murder that took place in 2015 in the Visheshwarganj area.

The case dates back to June 7, 2015, when Mr. Arvind Kumar Yadav, a resident of Ahiran Purva, filed a complaint with the police, alleging the involvement of five men in the killing of his father, Mr. Anokhi Lal.

The victim and the accused shared a close familial relationship and bore a long-standing enmity.

Noting that, approximately two years before this tragic incident, Mr. Anokhi Lal himself faced accusations of being responsible for the demise of an individual affiliated with the accused party.

The verdict delivered by Judge Anand Shukla found Roshan Lal and Ranglal, both hailing from Kaudiya village in Gonda district, and Ramprakash Yadav, Nanbabu Yadav, and Rajkumar, all residents of Visheshwarganj in Bahraich district, guilty of the crime.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 34,000 on each convict.

Munnu Lal Mishra further added, in case they default on the payment of the fine, each will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of 1½ years.
