Former Orissa HC Judge Justice PK Misra Passes Away at 82

Justice Choudhury Pratap Kishore Misra, a former Judge of the Orissa High Court and veteran jurist, passed away on the morning of 5th July. He was 82 years old and had been ailing for the past few months.

Justice PK Misra was born on January 5, 1942. After completing his legal education, he was enrolled in the Bar on November 8, 1971, and practiced in the Orissa High Court for nearly three decades before being elevated to the Bench on June 17, 1999.

Justice Misra specialized in taxation law and served as the Standing Counsel for Income Tax. As a Judge, he presided over a wide range of rosters, including taxation and labor matters. He retired from the High Court on January 4, 2004.
