Fraud Case: DK Suresh Appears Before ED, Denies Links To Accused Woman

Former MP and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar’s brother, D K Suresh, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a fraud case involving a woman accused of cheating people by promising high returns.

The woman, Aishwarya Gowda (33), was arrested in April after ED raids targeting her, Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, and others.

Gowda allegedly claimed proximity to high-profile politicians, including Suresh, and falsely presented herself as his sister to lure victims.

At least three cheating cases have been registered against her and her associates in Bengaluru.

Suresh Claims No Connection to Scam, Says He Filed Complaint Against Accused

Before appearing before the ED, Suresh told reporters, “The ED issued a notice asking me to appear before the investigation officer at 11 am. So, accordingly, I am reaching there. They had sought some information.

So, today I am meeting the ED officers with my lawyer.”

He insisted the case had nothing to do with him.

“I am unable to understand why the notice was served to me. I was the one who had lodged a complaint with the police commissioner against the woman who had orally said that she is my sister. I have no connection with the cheating case,” Suresh clarified.

He added that he would cooperate fully with the investigation.

Deputy CM Shivakumar Backs Brother, Recalls Past ED Cases

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar defended his brother, stating that the family was always ready to face investigations. “The ED had filed a case against me. What happened finally? No one came to our rescue. Only the court saved us,” he said, referring to previous money laundering cases against him.

Shivakumar suggested that Suresh was summoned because of someone’s statement. “People of the constituency can come and meet their public representative. He (Suresh) is ready to cooperate and answer all the questions pertaining to the matter,” he said.

The case continues to unfold as the ED probes the alleged fraud and possible political links.
