The Telangana High Court has recently disqualified Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy for his false affidavit submission during the 2018 Assembly elections.
Subsequently, the court has pronounced BJP National Vice President DK Aruna as the MLA of the Gadwal constituency. This determination is based on her status as the runner-up in the aforementioned election.
In response to the High Court’s ruling, a member of BJP’s legal cell Ram Chander Rao stated,” We welcome the Telangana High Court judgment setting aside Krishnamohan Reddy’s election from Gadwal and declaring DK Aruna as elected. This has happened because a petition was filed by DK Aruna that Krishna Mohan has suppressed the facts and information.”
Consequently, the Telangana High Court has levied a penalty of Rs 2.5 lakh upon Krishna Mohan Reddy. Also, the court-mandated an additional payment of Rs 50,000 as a cost to the petitioner.
