Ghazipur Court Denies Bail To Abbas Ansari In Land Grab Case

Principal Assault Case

A Ghazipur court has declined the bail request from Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party MLA Abbas Ansari.

The case revolves around the alleged fraudulent registration of a land plot under his and his mother’s name.

Special Judge Arvind Mishra, presiding over the MP-MLA court, rendered the verdict, denying bail to the MLA from Mau. Abbas Ansari, who is the son of incarcerated gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, sought bail in this matter.

The lawyer, recounting the case’s particulars, disclosed that lekhpal Satyapal lodged a complaint on August 19, 2020, at the Kotwali police station. The complaint alleged that the registration deed for an apparently barren plot of land in Mohammad Patti, which had been listed under the names of Ravindra Sharma, Shrikant Upadhyay, and Nandlal, had been nullified by the then district magistrate.

Despite the land’s declaration as barren, Abbas Ansari and his mother Afsa purportedly managed to secure registration of the same land under their names using fraudulent means, the lawyer appended. The case implicates a total of 12 people.
