Gujarat Police Arrests Govt School Teacher For Sexual Harassing Minor

In Gujarat’s Mahisagar district, a government school physical training teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing and threatening a 16-year-old girl student.

Following the incident, outraged individuals vandalized the high school in Ranjitpura village, Virpur taluka, on Saturday evening, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Vasava informed reporters.

Vasava stated that the teacher had persistently harassed the minor, pressuring her to engage in physical relations and communicate with him on social media. The girl eventually confided in her relatives, who reported the matter to the school principal. Police were alerted and promptly arrested the teacher on Saturday evening.

Charges have been filed against the teacher under sections 375 (criminal force on woman with intention of disrobing or compelling her to be naked) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as section 12 (sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, confirmed Vasava.

Furthermore, police have taken action against those responsible for the damage to the school property.
