Gyanvapi: Big Wins for Hindus, Court Grants Permission to Worship in Vyas ji Ka Tehkhana

Gyanvapi vyasji ka Tehkhana

Varanasi District Court has given the verdict in favor of Hindus after hearing an application of Hindus and hearing the arguments of both the sides. Varanasi Court has said that puja was held in the basement (Tehkhana) of Vyas ji till 1993. After the Ayodhya dispute, Hindus were stopped from worshiping in this basement. The Hindus, in their petition for worship in the basement of Vyas ji in the Gyanvapi complex, had said that it has been a long time since the Ayodhya dispute was resolved. Ram temple has also been built in Ayodhya, hence the right to worship should be restored to Hindus in the basement of Vyaaz.

After hearing the arguments of the lawyers of both the parties, the court issued permission to the Hindu side for worship. According to the information received, Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust will appoint priests and under its supervision, worship will start once again in the basement of Vyas ji.

Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain has said that it is a big victory for Hindus to get back the right to worship after 32 years. After the court order, the puja will start as soon as the district administration completes the arrangements. Advocate Vishnu Jain also says that after today’s order of the court, now Hindus have also been allowed to visit the Gyanvapi complex. In fact, the family of Somnath Vyas ji of Kashi used to perform regular puja in the basement till 1993. After 1993, worship in the basement was stopped on the orders of the then state government.

In this case, District Judge of Varanasi Court, Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh has clearly written in his order that ‘District Magistrate, Varanasi/Receiver is directed to hand over the building situated at Settlement Plot No. 9130 Police Station Chowk, District Varanasi. The basement situated on the south side of the basement which is the property in dispute, the plaintiff and the priest designated by the Kashi Vishwanath Trust Board should get the puja, raga-bhog, idols situated in the basement done and for this purpose within 7 days the iron fence etc. Make proper arrangements.
It is being said that the meaning of this order is that the court has given clear orders to the district administration for uninterrupted worship of Hindus in the basement of Vyas ji.
