The Rajasthan High Court has recently directed the additional director general of police (crime) to constitute a team for investigating all 16 FIRs registered in different districts of the state in regard to the irregularities in the outlay and waiver of loans by cooperative banks & societies.
Therefore, the team will conduct an inquiry into all the FIRs while submitting its final report to the police for any further proceedings in accordance with the law.
The division bench of justices Vijay Bishnoi and Praveer Bhatnagar gave these directions while hearing to a petition against the alleged large-scale fraud in outlay and waiver of loans by cooperative banks as well as the cooperative societies in the state.
Also, the court sought a status report on the next date of the hearing.
The Rajasthan Co-operative Department’s joint chief auditor conducted audit proceedings and flagged a large number of irregularities in the disbursement and waiver of loans by cooperative societies & cooperative banks.
Previously, the court gave directions to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies to submit a report with regard to the action taken against those cooperative societies and officials who were alleged to be involved in irregularities.
