Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday filed a complaint against Enforcement Directorate officials, accusing them of harassing and defaming him and his community. This complaint has been filed by Hemant Soren amid the investigation by ED in the alleged land scam and money laundering case.
CM Soren has filed this complaint in the name of Kapil Raj, Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar, Aman Patel and other unknown persons of Enforcement Directorate, Ranchi Zonal Office. In his complaint, Hemant Soren accused the above officers of conducting a search operation at Jharkhand Bhawan, 5/1, Shanti Niketan, New Delhi without any prior notice with the aim of harassing and defaming him and his community.
CM Soren particularly highlighted the searches conducted at Shanti Niketan on January 29, and emphasized that it happened without giving them prior information. He refuted the claims made by ED officials regarding the seizure of the blue BMW car and the discovery of illegal cash, saying that he neither owns the mentioned car nor does he have any illegal money. The complaint has been lodged at the SC ST police station in Ranchi, and investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a team of ED officials reached the residence of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren for questioning in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. After a late night meeting at Soren’s residence on Tuesday, JMM MP Mahua Maji told that the CM is ready to face the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 without any apprehension.
Earlier, ED officials had visited Soren’s residence in the national capital on Monday night to question him in connection with the alleged land scam. The ED had issued multiple summons to CM Soren, with the latest summons directing him to appear for questioning on January 29 or 31 or face the inquiry initiated by the agency. Heavy police deployment was seen around the Chief Minister’s residence in Ranchi.
