Hit & Run: Woman Dies As Luxury Car Runs Over Bike In Mumbai, Probe Underway

A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in Mumbai’s Worli area where a woman lost her life after a luxury car collided with the bike she was riding with her husband.

The deceased, identified as Kaveri Nakhwa (45) from Worli Koliwada, died in the accident, while her husband sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized, according to police reports.

Mumbai Police stated, “A BMW car struck a couple on a bike near Atria Mall in Worli at 5:30 am today. The woman passed away, and the man was injured.”

The driver of the BMW fled the scene immediately after the accident. The incident occurred as the couple, members of the fishing community, was returning home after purchasing fish. The husband managed to jump off the bike to avoid the speeding car, but unfortunately, his wife succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Police investigations revealed that the luxury car involved belongs to a leader of a political party based in Palghar, Maharashtra. The driver was accompanied by the leader’s son at the time of the incident.

Worli police are continuing their investigation into the matter, and further details are awaited.
