Hospital Shocker! Man Said To Be In Coma Walks Out Of ICU

A shocking case of alleged medical fraud has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh, where a man believed to be in a coma walked out of the Intensive Care Unit and accused a private hospital of holding him captive to extract exorbitant medical fees.

Case Insights

The incident took place at a private hospital in Ratlam, where Banti Ninama, a resident of Deendayal Nagar, had been admitted after sustaining injuries in a fight. According to his family, doctors informed them that he had suffered a spinal fracture and had slipped into a coma. Fearful for his life, his mother and wife scrambled to arrange funds, borrowing from relatives and friends to cover the costly treatment.

However, to everyone’s astonishment, Ninama later walked out of the hospital unaided, exposing what he claimed was a fraudulent scheme to extort money from his family.

Viral Video Sparks Outrage

A video of the incident, now viral on social media, shows Ninama leaving the hospital with medical tapes still attached to his body, IV drips in place, and a urine bottle in his hand. Contrary to the doctors’ claims, he appeared to be in normal health.

As he exited the hospital, he began shouting accusations, alleging that five hospital staff members had restrained him while they pressured his family for more money.

Family’s Testimony

His wife, visibly distressed in the viral clip, confirmed the ordeal, saying, “They told us he had a spinal fracture and had fallen into a coma. They handed us prescriptions, and we bought everything they asked for. Then, they told us to pay Rs.1 lakh for the treatment. We had to beg our relatives for money. We ran from one place to another and finally managed to gather the amount.”

Patient’s Drastic Escape

According to reports, Ninama was only released after he allegedly threatened hospital staff with a pair of scissors. The incident has raised serious concerns about unethical medical practices and fraudulent billing in private hospitals.

Authorities are yet to take official action, but the case has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for stricter regulation of private healthcare institutions.
