The Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended two men for purportedly raping a woman and molesting a five-year-old girl in two distinct incidents.
According to police statements, an FIR was filed at the R S Pura police station on May 12 based on a complaint of child molestation, invoking section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 7 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In connection with this case, Mukesh Kumar alias ‘Shalu’, residing in Rangpur Mulanian, has been apprehended and placed under police custody, with further medico-legal procedures underway. Additionally, in another incident, Satpal, a resident of Chohala, has also been arrested.
Satpal is purportedly accused of raping a woman in the R S Pura area on May 12, the same day as the child molestation case.
