J&K Police Books Orry, 7 Others For Consuming Alcohol Near Vaishno Devi In Katra

Bollywood socialite and influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has found himself in legal trouble on Monday after being booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Orry, along with 7 others, is accused of consuming alcohol near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, a revered Hindu pilgrimage site. The incident has sparked controversy for allegedly violating religious norms and local regulations.

FIR Filed Against Orry & Associates

Authorities have registered an FIR against 8 individuals, including Orry, for consuming alcohol in a prohibited zone. According to police reports, the case (FIR No. 72/25) has been lodged at Katra Police Station. Among those named in the complaint is Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, who was part of Orry’s group.

The list of accused includes- Orhan Awatramani (Orry), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, Anastasila Arzamaskina

The group has been charged with breaching an official order issued by the District Magistrate and allegedly hurting religious sentiments by consuming alcohol in an area where such activities are strictly prohibited. The incident reportedly occurred in the Cottage Suit area of Katra, where local regulations ban alcohol and non-vegetarian food due to the site’s religious significance.

Investigation Underway

A senior Reasi Police official told media that a special investigation team has been formed to handle the case. “A dedicated team, under the supervision of SP Katra, Dy SP Katra, and SHO Katra, has been constituted to probe the matter. Notices will be issued to all accused individuals, including Orry, directing them to cooperate with the investigation,” the official confirmed.

Authorities have warned of strict action against anyone found violating laws at religious sites. “SSP Reasi has made it clear that anyone engaging in activities such as alcohol or drug consumption at religious places will face severe legal consequences,” the official added.

With the investigation underway, the case has sparked discussions on maintaining the sanctity of pilgrimage sites and enforcing religious laws more strictly.
