Kerala HC To Start IT Case Management System For Family Courts And Vigilance Courts

The Kerala High Court will launch a comprehensive case management system for family courts and vigilance courts throughout the state.

The Vigilance Case Management System will be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, while the Family Court Case Module will be inaugurated by the Kerala High Court Chief Justice S. Manikumar.

The event will also be attended by Advocate General K Gopalakrishna Kurup, Deputy Solicitor General of India S Manu, Vice President Kerala Bar Association S Biju, and other dignitaries.

Case management system for judges and CMO has been introduced in current IT initiatives, where they can track and manage cases. In addition, the family courts will set up a dashboard to monitor cases pending in each court, allowing judges to set targets for each court to speed up the process.

A high-level Information and Technology (IT) team has also developed a customised version of CMS software used in High Courts for the Vigilance Court, per the orders of Chief Justice Manikumar.

The system will provide access to judgements and orders issued by vigilance courts, which was previously unavailable, as well as various features for case management ranging from FIR/VC registration to disposition.

The following IT initiatives are about to be launched:

1.Online Certified Copy Machine Delivery

This process produces an instantaneous certified copy of a Court document at the request of the applicant. The applicant logs in to the High Court website, and the application guides his or her through the process of selecting the required document and providing a preview.

After confirmation, payment can be made online, and the document is delivered to the applicant in real time, ready for download. Long waits for a copy application are a thing of the past thanks to this method, which is a great service to the public.

2.E-Post

The High Court is in the process of developing an end-to-end solution for the development of a program for digital service of summons, notices and other High Court documents. The Department of Posts has developed a solution that combines e-post and speed post services.

3.Application for Intra – Appeal/Revision

The system is intended to simplify and streamline the appeal filing process, making it more efficient and faster for lawyers and litigants. The new system allows e-filers to file an appeal in minutes rather than having to scan their existing case bundle.

4.IT training hall

As a result of the High Court’s e-Governance and technical modernization initiatives, it has become critical to provide timely technical/functional training to the Judiciary’s staff.

Taking this into account, steps to establish a cutting-edge IT training centre were initiated in 2021-2022, with an initial budget of Rs 30 lakh. Another Rs 30 lakh was approved for 2022-2023. The proposed training hall is fully networked and includes cutting-edge interactive displays, all-in-one PCs for trainees, video conferencing capability, and digital conference systems.

5.Online RTI portal

The NIC High Court unit created this application to automate the existing physical flow of handling RTI applications. The user interface includes an e-payment option for making payments online. The application flows through dedicated dashboards.
