“Maharashtra To Establish India’s First Advocate Academy”: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Saturday that the state government is evaluating a proposal to provide a tuition stipend for new lawyers.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Advocate Academy and Research Centre in Taloja, Raigad district, Fadnavis expressed pride in the establishment of the country’s first advocate academy in Maharashtra, congratulating the Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council for spearheading the initiative.

The state has allocated ₹10 crore for the academy, which Fadnavis believes will serve as a transformative force in legal education and practice. He stated:

“There is a proposal being considered by the Maharashtra government to provide tuition stipend to lawyers entering the profession.”
