The Ramban court has recently sentenced a man to life imprisonment for poisoning to death his 2-year-old son in the Jammu and Kashmir district about 10 years ago.
The District and Sessions Judge of Ramban, RS Jasrotia, convicted Mohd Shafi, a resident of Ind village, in connection to the murder of his son, Mohd Suleman.
The spokesperson elaborated that the child was discovered dead under circumstances that raised suspicion within his residence on October 30, 2013. In the course of the subsequent inquiry, it was ascertained that Shafi administered insecticide to the child, leading to his death.
Following these findings, a murder case was registered on November 30, 2013. The chargesheet outlining the allegations against the accused was formally submitted to the court on January 26, 2014, as communicated by the spokesperson.
Consequently, Shafi was at last subjected to a sentence of rigorous life imprisonment and was also imposed with a monetary penalty amounting to Rs 10,000.
The spokesman stated, in case of default of payment, the accused shall further undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 more months.
