Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Ashwani Kumar has directed the suspension of four officers in the Karol Bagh zone for allegedly forging the signature of a former senior official of the civic body.
A recent order specifies that disciplinary action has been promptly taken against the four officers from the Buildings Department in the Karol Bagh Zone.
A senior official familiar with the matter revealed that the action was initiated in response to an order issued on Wednesday, purportedly bearing the signature of IAS officer Himanshu Gupta, who served as the deputy commissioner of the Karol Bagh Zone in 2021.
Gupta currently serves as the secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
“On Wednesday, an order was issued bearing the manual signature of former deputy commissioner Himanshu Gupta, who was assigned here as far back as 2021. In connection with this case involving misconduct and abuse of authority, the suspension of all four officers has been ordered,” the official stated.
The issued order concerns land use, he added.
An inquiry has been initiated into alleged corruption and selective implementation of tasks.
