Mumbai Police Detaines Munawar Faruqui from Hukka Bar

Controversial stand-up comedian and ‘Bigg Boss – 17’ winner Munawar Faruqui was detained by Mumbai Police during a raid on a hookah bar in South Mumbai. Along with him, the police also arrested 14 others.

The social services wing of the city police raided a hookah parlor located in Bora Bazaar area of Fort at around 10.30 pm. A police officer said, the operation which started on the night of March 26 continued till 5 am on March 27.

“During the raid, the police found stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui and others smoking hookah in a joint. We also have a video of their act. We have detained Munawar Faruqui and others,” a senior police officer said. Took, since the crimes were bailable, after paying the bail, he was released from the police station itself on a personal bond.
