NEET Aspirant Fatally Beaten by Girl’s Family in Rajasthan: Police

A 17-year-old NEET aspirant was fatally beaten in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district by the family members of a girl he befriended through social media, police stated on Friday.

The boy had visited the village of the girl (15) under Merta city police station area on Wednesday, intending to meet her when her family members apprehended them in an agricultural field, they explained.

Deputy SP Pintu Kumar noted that the teenager was assaulted, resulting in critical injuries.

The girl’s family subsequently admitted him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment. Hailing from Bihar, the boy resided in Kota and was preparing for the medical entrance examination. He had connected with the girl via Facebook some time ago, according to police. Upon his arrival in Nagaur on Tuesday, he spent the night there.

The following morning, he traveled to Merta city to rendezvous with the girl, authorities disclosed. Following postmortem, the body was released to the family members, the deputy SP mentioned.

Ramesh, the girl’s father, along with his brother Ramakishan and friend Vikas, have been apprehended in connection with the murder case lodged by the victim’s father, Umesh.
