NIA Searches Houses Of CPI (Maoist) Supporters, Workers In Jharkhand

NIA

The National Investigation Agency on Friday has raided the homes of overground workers and sympathizers of the banned terror group CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand.

The raids targeted 3 locations in Chaibasa: Village Pusalata, Buru Rengra, and Lipunga village, all in District West Singhbhum. These searches are linked to a case involving incriminating letters found in July 2022 that were addressed to CPI (Maoist) leaders.

The NIA took over the investigation from local police and registered the case against nine suspects in August 2023.

According to the NIA, the suspects were aiding the group’s senior leadership in their Naxal activities. The investigation is ongoing.
