“No Enrolment Be Done Without Aadhaar And Voter ID Cards”: DBC To Law Graduates

The Delhi Bar Council has recently issued a circular stating that the law graduates must now present their Aadhaar and voter identification documents proving their residency in Delhi or the National Capital Region (NCR) while enrolling in the bar council.

In accordance with its resolution made at a meeting held on April 6, 2023, the Council released a circular in this regard recently.

According to the circular, the lawyers’ body stated that the fresh law graduates who desire to apply for enrolment must include a copy of their Aadhar card and voter ID card from Delhi or the NCR with their enrolment application.

“Henceforth no enrolment shall be done without the copy of Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card bearing the address of Delhi/NCR,” the notification reads.

This is a change from the previous norm, which stated that address proof required for enrolment was only a self-attested copy of a rent agreement with a Delhi address.
