Noida School Students Booked for Assaulting and Molesting Classmate

Noida

Five students have been booked for assaulting and molesting a fellow classmate on school premises in Noida, prompting an investigation, as per the police on Sunday.

The girl’s father asserted that she initially reported instances of “sexual harassment” to the school principal on October 9. However, the accused continued to misbehave with her on October 13, leading her father to approach the police.

The private school, located in Noida Sector 100, has initiated its own inquiry into the “disciplinary” matter. According to a police spokesperson, “The girl, a Class 11 student, was assaulted by her classmates. An FIR has been registered at the local Sector 39 police station, and the girl underwent a medical examination.”

The authorities are investigating all allegations in the case. The spokesperson added, “The complainant and the accused are all minors. The school principal was informed about the incident via email by the girl, and the school’s response to her complaint is also under scrutiny.” An FIR has been filed under Indian Penal Code sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (assault or criminal force), 354A (sexual assault), and 506 (criminal intimidation), as per the police.

In his complaint to the police on October 13, the father alleged that after his daughter reported the “vulgar” talk and “sexual harassment” by her classmates to the school principal and objected to the accused boy’s actions, they warned her that “we can go to any limits.”

“Despite being informed, the school took no action. Today, on October 13, my daughter once again called me in the afternoon to inform me of the recurring behavior. I immediately contacted the principal and inquired about the situation. They have only assured us that the matter will be investigated,” he claimed.

The father further claimed that one of the accused students threatened to kill his daughter. In a statement issued on Saturday, the school acknowledged the “unfortunate incident” on the campus and stated, “The disciplinary matter is being thoroughly investigated and addressed.”
