The MP-MLA court of Uttar Pradesh’s Mau issued a non-bailable warrant against gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s son, Umar Ansari.
The warrant here has been issued in connection with two cases against him over an alleged breach of the code of conduct during the Assembly election.
Earlier at the hearing, MLA Abbas Ansari appeared in court through video conference.
However, Umar Ansari didn’t appear even after a warrant. Therefore, an NBW was issued against him in both cases registered against him.
Therefore, the next hearing will be held on June 2.
Mukhtar Ansari (Umar’s father), was booked for his involvement in the 1996 kidnapping case of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s leader Nandkishore Rungta and the 2005 murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai.
In January this year, a murder case was registered against Mukhtar Ansari in connection with the 2001 ‘Usri Chatti’ gang war incident. He was booked under Sections 302, 147, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code at Mohammadabad police station in Ghazipur.
