The Parliamentary Committee on Personnel-Training and Law and Justice, led by Vivek Tankha, met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence on January 9. This was a courtesy visit. The committee comprised MPs Vandana Kumar, Kanakmedala Ravindra Kumar, Darshan Singh, P Wilson, I Veena Devi, Jasbir Gill, and Raghu Raju.
During this visit of Telangana, the Committee also met with the State’s Chief Secretary, senior officials, and top representatives from Public Sector Undertakings and Banks. Notably, representatives from Indian Oil Corporation, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, and NMDC Limited participated in this engagement.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stands out among the nation’s emerging leaders, displaying the potential not only to propel his state but also the country towards progress. His focus remains steadfast on upholding law and order, ensuring the well-being of state employees, and enhancing efficiency. Revanth Reddy’s political journey began with his first Legislative Assembly win in 2009 under the TDP ticket. He contested elections six times between 2009 and 2023, securing victory on four occasions. His leadership steered the Congress to a significant triumph in the recent assembly elections over BRS. Revanth Reddy assumed office as Telangana’s Chief Minister on December 7, 2023.
Vivek Tankha, heading the Department of Personnel-Training and the Parliamentary Committee on Law and Justice, is a prominent lawyer in the Supreme Court. Tankha previously served as one of the youngest Advocate Generals of Madhya Pradesh and also held the position of Additional Solicitor General. During his visit to Telangana, he engaged in discussions on various public welfare issues with senior state officials and representatives from public sector undertakings. Tankha emphasized the significance of the discussion and meeting with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as being highly meaningful.
