Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday for an inquiry into a POCSO case registered against him. On 14th June, the Karnataka High Court restrained the CID from arresting the veteran BJP leader in connection with the case dated March 14.
As per police reports, Yediyurappa faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and Section 354 A (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These charges stem from a complaint filed by the mother of a 17-year-old girl. Allegedly, Yediyurappa molested the girl during a meeting on February two this year at his residence in Dollars Colony.
Yediyurappa has refuted the accusation, stating that “people would teach a lesson to those indulging in conspiracies against him.”
