Two men have been arrested for allegedly selling juice contaminated with their saliva in Noida, (Uttar Pradesh), police officials stated.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening at a juice stall near Garhi Chaukhandi village in Sector 121 when local resident Satish Bhatia visited for juice, they added.
“A First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the local Phase 3 police station on Sunday morning. Later in the day, both accused, Jamshed (30) and Sonu alias Sahabe Alam, were taken into police custody,” said a police spokesperson.
The accused have been charged under sections 153A(1)(b) (disturbing public tranquility), 270 (malignant act of spreading infection of disease dangerous to life), and 34 (acts done by several people in furtherance of a common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The official also stated that the necessary legal action has been taken against them in the case.
